A Steady Hand with the Records That Matter

Latterway was established to give individuals in Malaysia a calm, unhurried space to attend to their personal documents — before those documents become difficult to locate or interpret.

— Our Story

Founded on a Simple Observation

Latterway came about after its founders noticed a recurring situation among family members and acquaintances in their fifties and sixties: people had spent decades accumulating important personal documents — but nobody had a clear picture of what they had, where it was stored, or how a family member would locate it in a pinch.

The typical response was to put off the task. Not because it seemed unimportant, but because it felt overwhelming without a structure to follow. Latterway was built to provide that structure — practical, printed, and carried out at a pace that feels manageable rather than pressured.

We are based in Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur, and work primarily with individuals who are five to ten years from retirement, as well as family groups who want to get a shared picture of where documents are held. Our scope is purely administrative: we help with organising, labelling, and referencing. We do not offer opinions on legal, financial, or entitlement matters.

Mission

Quiet Order, Before It Is Needed

To help individuals in Malaysia attend to their personal records in a structured, unhurried way — so that the documents of a lifetime are ready when they are called upon.

Values
  • Calm and clear over rushed and comprehensive
  • Printed outputs that do not depend on technology
  • Scope limited strictly to document organisation
  • Respect for the pace of each individual
  • Transparency about what we do and do not cover

— Standards & Protocols

How We Conduct Our Work

Every session follows a consistent set of procedural standards designed to make participants feel at ease, protect their information, and produce a clear and usable output.

Confidentiality

No personal document contents are recorded, photographed, or retained by Latterway. Sessions are conducted in a private room with no third parties present unless requested by the participant.

Defined Scope

Each session begins with a short explanation of what the facilitator will and will not cover. This ensures there is no ambiguity about whether financial or legal guidance is being provided.

Printed Reference Outputs

All outputs are printed and handed to the participant at the conclusion of the session. No digital copies are retained unless the participant specifically requests one for their own use.

Pre-Session Briefing

Every participant receives a written briefing note before their first session explaining the format, what to bring, and what the session will produce.

Personal Data Handling

We collect only the contact information needed to arrange and confirm your session. This is handled in accordance with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

Post-Session Support

Participants are welcome to contact us after a session if they have questions about how to maintain or update their reference folder. Follow-up is available by email or phone at no additional charge within 30 days.

— Our Approach

Document Organisation at a Human Pace

In Malaysia, the years leading up to retirement bring a specific kind of administrative weight. There are MyKad copies to locate, EPF statements to file, title deeds and insurance policies scattered across filing cabinets and old folders. Most people know they should sort through these materials, but the task tends to slip in favour of more immediate demands.

Latterway's approach is built around structure rather than speed. We work through document categories methodically, noting what exists, where it is stored, and how a family member would find it. The result is a reference index or binder that acts as a map — not a legal summary, not financial advice, but a clear and practical record of what is where.

Our facilitators are familiar with the range of document types that matter to individuals in the Klang Valley and across Malaysia. We understand the naming conventions used by Malaysian institutions, the typical categories of personal and household records that accumulate over a working life, and the particular concerns that tend to arise when families begin to think about later-life planning.

Working with Latterway does not require any prior preparation or technical knowledge. You bring what you have, and we help you build a structure around it. The session is conducted at your pace, with breaks as needed, and the printed output you leave with is yours to keep, share with family, and update over time.
